Garrett's 3rd Birthday

In December we celebrated Garrett's third birthday and he even helped make his birthday cupcakes for the party.
Keegan thought he was helping by getting a head start on the presents.
Controlled chaos at the party- why did I think it would be a good idea to have a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds decorate their own cupcakes? They only decorated 1 cupcake (or sometimes only part of one) before taking over the house and playing everywhere.
The big gift opening- even though I specifically put on the invitations not to bring gifts- everyone brought Garrett something new.
The boys enjoying Garrett's gift from Mom and Dad- a new play tent. The boys love it and Allen made the comment the other night that it was definitely a good investment! It's always fun to have the boys really enjoy something that I thought they would enjoy (which is not always the case!).

Seaman Family Christmas 2011

Even though the Big Kids were obviously picking on Keegan by putting bows on his head, he thought it was great.

Garrett enjoying his loot.

Garrett seemed to think that all of Keegan's gifts were also his as Garrett was pretty excited to see what Keegan received (which is still true at home, he plays with all of Keegan's stuff, too...and Keegan tries to play with some of Garrett's things, too).

In true fashion, Grandma waited until Keegan was in his pajamas and ready for bed to get the grandkids together for a picture.

The best part of the day was having someone else put together Garrett's toys (I think Tyler did most of the work).

Uncle Bob helped Garrett learn how to run the crank to race the trains.

Christmas Morning 2011

Garrett and Dad are checking out which of the "trains that go by themselves" (aka Thomas and Percy) is the fastest. These were from Santa.

Keegan playing with his activity table that Santa brought for him.

Opening up gifts from Mom and Dad.

Dad and Garrett showing off their new warm hats (from Smartwool- yes, I'm addicted!).
Keegan trying to drink out of the empty cup (it was one of his gifts from Grandpa and Grandma Seaman).

Garrett and Dad working on Garrett's new Thomas the Train puzzle that Grandpa and Grandma Seaman got for him.

Garrett got lots of Thomas the Train items, however, he doesn't like the show. Santa brought him some Thomas movies and he watches them for about 2 minutes before he requests something else.

It's Frosting Time!

Garrett wasn't too interested in frosting cookies, he only did a couple. Keegan was busy napping.

But Garrett was very interested in cutting paper and spent more than an hour cutting a large piece of wrapping paper into tiny, tiny pieces. For as much as he cut, his hand should have been cramped and sore!

Dough Boys

Garrett enjoyed cutting out cookies while at Grandma and Grandpa Seaman's house. He even made one with his hand imprint.
Keegan hung out on the floor in order to continue to perfect his crawling skills.

Grandpa Seaman even got in on the action.
This is Grandma Seaman telling Keegan that she didn't need his help to clean up but he thought otherwise.

It's all about Santa

Keegan didn't mind sitting on Santa's lap (this year anyway).

Garrett would not acknowledge Santa, much less sit on his lap.

Garrett did get things ready for Santa and the reindeer even though he did not like visiting Santa earlier in the day. He made sure to have carrots for the reindeer and picked out special cookies for Santa.

Everything ready for Santa and the reindeer, including a note that Garrett made at school telling Santa "I have been good this year. Please bring me a Thomas the train for Christmas".

The Army Crawl

video
Proof that Keegan is on the go. He has started with the "army crawl" although we think he's ready to get some space between his belly and the floor soon.

9 Months + Moose

At Keegan's 9-month check-up, he was 29.25" (83%) and 19.2# (29%). Garrett was 29.25# and 17.6# at his 9-month check-up. Allen and I always feel like Keegan seems longer than Garrett was at the same age but apparently not!

Garrett also wanted his picture with the moose so he sat on it so Keegan couldn't get it anymore.

Leftovers from Halloween

Kedzie ate Garrett's pumpkin. We had the pumpkin on the porch and one evening we noticed that the stem was missing and had apparently been eaten so we moved the pumpkin onto a table on the porch. Later that week, I caught Kedzie carrying the pumpkin (what was left of it) around the yard. By the end of the day, the pumpkin was completely gone. Fortunately Garrett was not too traumatized, he simply requested that we should do another pumpkin sometime with the letter "G" on it.

The boys enjoying their "loot" from school.

Prior to Halloween, we could not convince Garrett to wear his dinosaur outfit that Grandma Seaman made for him. He did wear it for the school Halloween party and trick-or-treating and apparently enjoyed it because he had to wear it every night (and some mornings) for the next few weeks.
